Malca-Amit is seeking an experienced Entry Writer with interest in further career development.
The ideal candidate must have experience in all facets of Customs Brokerage.
We are looking for a dynamic individual, who is self-motivated and possesses solid customer service skills.
Applicants must have a strong knowledge of Customs regulations, policies, and procedures.
Data Entry and Documentation:
• Enter shipment details into internal systems orcustoms software
• Prepare and file customs entries and other required documentation.
• Ensure accuracy of import paperwork (commercial invoices, bills of lading, packing lists).
• Accurate and timely filing of ISF for Marubeniclients.
• Correspond with clients regarding ISF, documents,classification, Customs/PGA issues, exams/holds, etc.
• Maintain and manage client product HTS databases.
• Monitor, track and tracing client shipments.
• Ensure accurate and timely transmissions of CBP PGA entries.
• Communicate with CBP, OGA’s, SSL, forwarders to resolve issues.
• Participate in on-going education/training.
• Be a team leader for co-workers with less industry experience.
• Ensure timely billing to clients.
Customs Compliance:
• Ensure that the correct Harmonized Tariff Schedule(HTS) is used.
• Assist in ensuring shipments comply with U.S. Customsand Border Protection (CBP) PGA regulations.
• Maintain updated knowledge with basic import regulations.
• Support management with entry audit.
• Support management with reviewing of departmental reports.
Communication and Coordination:
•Communicate with clients, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies as needed.
• Track shipments and update clients on the status of their cargo.
Clerical and Support Duties:
• Scan, file, and maintain records of all processedentries in accordance with Customs and PGA regulations
• Timely and accurate billing of completed entries.
• Support senior specialists or customs brokers with administrative tasks.
Learning and Development:
• Participate in training programs to understand customs procedures and regulations.
• Must be a US citizen.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and time-management skills.
• Organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Willingness to learn U.S. Customs regulations and documentation procedures.
• Cargo Wise experience.
• Minimum 3-5 years CHB experience.
